The US State Department and the Department of Homeland Security have announced that the Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative shall be implemented commencing January 23, 2007. What this means is that persons travelling to the United States via air, including US Citizens returning from air travel outside the country to Canada, will now be required to present passport identification. If you are a US Citizen and don't yet have a passport, or need to renew it, please review the simplified requirements to get your US Passport now.
